You recycle, you may have started buying compact florescent light bulbs, but are you sewing and quilting green too? Did you know that you could? We are very happy to see more organically grown materials finding their way to our shelves and we can't wait to share them with you.

September is National Sewing Month
What's the American Sewing Guild doing this month?
ASG shares an excellent article on Sewing Green. You'll find a wealth of tips to use-up your fabric stash, re-use buttons and "greening up" your sewing room.
Using organic fabric is not the only way to sew green. You do it every day when you leave the plastic bags at the store and bring your own reusable bags, when you put compact-florescent light bulbs in your work room, and by turning the air conditioning down a degree or two more in the summertime.
Grab a glass of lemonade and take a look. You may just discover that the American Sewing Guild has a lot to more to offer. Enjoy.
We're Going Green in our every day lives and share the stories on our blog. Here are a few below and a link to use to browse the environmental posts.
Save the World Tote
These
bags are big, hold a bunch of groceries and get comments
from every one I meet. I have a great time looking for food fabric
or stash busting.
We carry a lot of fabric that would look good on a bag.

Bamboo Cord Sample
Oh,
I love that Panda Cord. Feels like butter; sews like a dream;
washes and dries beautifully. It's light-weight, perfect
for spring clothes. And it doesn't shed the way cotton cord does.
What's not to love?!
